More than 1000 years old, the temple in the city's Paris Road area was renovated in early 2007 with a special grant of 200,000 rupees from Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.[1] The special grant was given through the minority MPA Joseph Hakim Din due to the efforts of Hakem Ratan Lal Bhagat, Member of the District Peace Committee of and the participation of the Hindu community of Sialkot.
