Jan Hofmeyer is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It is located in Region B of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.

History[edit]

Originally named after Jan Hendrik Hofmeyr (20 March 1894 – 3 December 1948), a South African politician and intellectual in the years preceding Apartheid.[2] The suburb has its origins in 1935 and was to provide cheap housing.[2]
