Jane Slaughter (born 1961) is a British actress. She is known for portraying the background role of Tracey in BBC One soap opera EastEnders.[1] Slaughter has portrayed Tracey since EastEnders first episode on 19 February 1985, making her the longest serving female character on the show.[2]

As a child, Slaughter trained at Elmhurst Ballet School,[3] but came to realise that she preferred acting and has appeared as Petrova in Ballet Shoes in 1975, and as Joanna in The History Man in 1981.[1]

Personal life[edit]

Slaughter has two sons.[2] In January 2019, it was announced that she would be running the London Marathon with some of her EastEnders co-stars. The run will benefit a Dementia campaign in honour of Barbara Windsor.[4]
