Jirkatang is a village in the South Andaman District of the Andaman and Nicobar islands. There are 77 nearby villages.

History

The indigenous people have ancestors dating back to around 30,000 to 300,000 years ago.

There is very little education in Jirkatang.

Most people get around by car or bus.

Environment

Jirkatang is very tropical. The area has lots of trees and marine life.
