Joseph Ward (astronomer)

Joseph Thomas Ward (25 January 1862 – 4 January 1927) was a New Zealand farmworker, bookseller and stationer, astronomer. He was born in London, England in 1862. He was the driving force behind the establishment of the Ward Observatory in Whanganui. He died in Wairoa while visiting his daughter.[1]
