Kamala (name)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kamala is a Sanskrit word meaning lotus.[1][2] It is used as a feminine given name in Indian culture, predominantly by Hindu families, as it is one of the names of the goddess Lakshmi, who appears from the centre of a lotus.[3]

The masculine counterpart Kamal is a given name for Indian boys.
