The 2019 King of the Ring is an ongoing professional wrestling tournament which began on WWE's television program Monday Night Raw on August 19, 2019,[1] and airs on both Raw and SmackDown Live with the finals taking place at Clash of Champions.[2] It is the first King of the Ring tournament since 2015.

The tournament will feature 16 wrestlers (eight each from the Raw and SmackDown brands) competing to win the titular honor.[3]

Background[edit]

On the August 12, 2019, episode of Raw, it was announced that the King of the Ring tournament would be returning[4] for the first time since 2015. Later that same evening, the competitors were confirmed for the tournament:[5] A few days later, the bracket was officially revealed.[6]
