Legenda Education Group's (LEG) entry into the field of private higher education began with the establishment of Legenda College in Pulau Langkawi in 1998. Due to rapid growth and the need for more space, Legenda College relocated to the new integrated campus in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan in 2002. From there, LEG expanded from a single institution to five (5) colleges, including one University College presently through further acquisitions between 2003 and 2007.
The group offers more than 200 MOHE approved courses of which 60 are fully accredited by MQA in fields like engineering, quantity surveying, architecture, construction management, information technology, computer science, business, accounting, art and design, nursing at diploma, HND, degree and master levels to about 5,300 students. More than 30,000 students have graduated from LEG colleges since their inception.
In line with its mission to become one of the most respected centres of academic excellence in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific region, LEG collaborated with a number of international strategic partners including the University of East London (UEL), Coventry University. The University of East London and the Coventry University have cancelled the collaboration due to the lack of lab equipment in the engineering laboratories.
