Jennifer Lopez is an American singer, actress, dancer, fashion designer and producer. She began her career as an actress for a minor role in the film My Little Girl. Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color in 1991, where she remained for two seasons and remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. She received her first leading role in the Selena biopic of the same name in 1997 which made $35.5 million at box office. She ventured into the music industry in 1999, with her debut studio album, On the 6, preceded by the number-one single "If You Had My Love". In 2001, she released her second studio album J.Lo which sold over 12 million copies worldwide.[1] she has released eight studio albums overall, as of today. Lopez has sold over 80 million records worldwide.[2] She has won 133 awards from 324 nominations including 3 American Music Awards, 1 BET Awards, 1 Billboard Music Award, 10 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and 2 World Music Awards. In 2014, she received the prestigious Billboard Icon Award for her contribution in music.

American Music Awards[edit]

The American Music Awards, (AMA) is an annual American awards show, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the networks contract to present the Grammy Awards expired.
