However, it was during an attempted "dress up" session that Kuro had her arguably greatest impact on her friend's life: her attempt to remove a dress that Aki had made by hand for Rin prompted the latter to emerge from her stupor for the first time to protest the action, marking the beginning of her long journey on the road to eventual recovery. While Kuro's attitude improved somewhat in the ensuing years, her friendship with Rin changed dramatically: the admiration and respect she developed for the strength of character that emerged in her friend eventually gave rise to an intimate attraction. In spite of this, she remains fiercely loyal and protective of Rin, a courtesy she extends to any individuals she considers her friends. Her mother divorced her father after he cheated on her. This is the reason for Kuro's general distrust of men.
When Kuro asked Shirai what the best approach for dealing with her unrequited love for Rin would be, Shirai hurt the young girl's feelings by unintentionally implying that her lesbian attraction was somehow less than normal. She apologized to her later on.

Despite Yuzu struggling with her romantic interest in Mei, she also tries her best to be a good older sister figure, doing her best to mend the relationship between Mei and her father and doing what she can to offer support.
Mei is stern, cold and composed, but has a short temper. Although greatly respected by the student body, she may on occasion act or speak cruelly. This trait, as well as the fact that Mei often makes sexual advances toward her simply to manipulate her, greatly frustrates Yuzu. Mei initially had some kind of romantic relationship with a young, handsome male teacher, although Yuzu later discovered that he only intended to use her for her money and revealed his transgressions, leading to him leaving the school. - In Portuguese, "Zezé" is a reduplication of "Zé", a familiar form of "José", which is equivalent to English "Joseph", and "Maria" is equivalent to English "Mary". "Zezé Maria" is a normal masculine name, as it is not unknown for men in Portuguese-speaking countries to be called José Maria or Zé Maria. However, José is a masculine name and Maria is a feminine name, hinting at the character's gender ambiguity.
- In Portuguese, Zezé Maria is referred to by pronouns ele ("he") and ela ("she"), as well as articles o (masculine "the") and a (feminine "the").

We’ve seen other incarnations of Batwoman onscreen—like in the direct-to-video cartoon Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman—but this is the first time it’s been the modern sapphic Kate Kane version of the character. Voiced by Yvonne Strahovski, she plays a major role in Bad Blood, and the movie does not shy away from her history—or her sexuality.

However, DC seems to be coming to its senses, and recognizing the importance of seeing all-ages, positive representations of LGBTQ+ relationships in the new DCUAOM, Batman: Bad Blood. As her story unfolds, her sexuality is treated like no big deal.

In Bad Blood, Kate goes to a gay bar and flirts with Renee Montoya; she chats with her worried father about how he just wants her to find a good girl and settle down; she jokes with Dick about how it took her a long time to figure out women, too. And at the end of the film, she’s the only character whose happy ending includes a romantic interest.
