Living former U.S. Lieutenant Governors of North Dakota[edit]

As of January 2017, six former lieutenant governors of North Dakota were alive, the oldest being Rosemarie Myrdal (served 1992–2000, born 1929). The most recent death of a former lieutenant governor of North Dakota was that of Ernest Sands (served 1981–1985, born 1922), on April 9, 2012. The most recently serving lieutenant governor to die was Ruth Meiers (1985-1987), who died in office on March 19, 1987.
