The schools in England are organised into local education authorities. There are 150 local education authorities in England organised into nine larger regions.[1] According to the Schools Census there were 3,408[2] maintained government secondary schools in England in 2017[3]

East of England[edit]

There are 11 local education authorities in the East of England.[4]

South East of England[edit]

There are 19 local education authorities in the South East of England.[5]

South West of England[edit]

There are 16 local education authorities in the South West of England.[6]

Yorkshire and Humber[edit]

There are 15 local education authorities in Yorkshire and Humber.[7]

North East of England[edit]

There are 12 local education authorities in the North East of England.[8]

North West of England[edit]

There are 23 local education authorities in the North West of England.[9]

East Midlands[edit]

There are 9 Local Education Authorities in the East Midlands.[10]

Greater London[edit]

There are 33 local education authorities in the Greater London area.[11]

West Midlands[edit]

There are 14 local education authorities in the West Midlands.[12]
