Llangynyw (also Llangyniew) is a hamlet and an ancient parish in[disambiguation needed]Maldwyn, Powys, mid Wales. It is located on a hill inside a bend in the River Banwy, approximately two miles north-east of Llanfair Caereinion.
The focus of the hamlet is the Church and Parish of St. Cynyw. The church dates from between 1450 A.D. and 1500 A.D.
