Lockrose is a locality split between the Lockyer Valley Region and Somerset Region of South East Queensland, Australia. It had a population of 553 at the 2011 Census.[1] The northern boundary of Lockrose is marked by Lockyer Creek.

Areas along the creek have been intensely farmed while elevated parts have residential developments.

History[edit]

Lockrose Post Office opened by 1913 (a receiving office had been open from 1906) and closed in 1972.[2]

Lockrose State School is a small three teacher school with approximately fifty students.[3] It caters for students from Prep to Year six. It opened in March 1905.[4]
