55°31′30″N 2°44′56″W / 55.525°N 2.749°W / 55.525; -2.749 Lothian and Borders is an area in south-east Scotland consisting of the East Lothian, City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian areas (collectively known as Lothian) along with the Scottish Borders.
The area constitutes a sheriffdom, and is also served by the single Lothian and Borders Police and the Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service.
