Lucas Wong (Chinese: 黃旭熙; pinyin: Huáng Xùxī, Korean: 루카스; born January 25, 1999), commonly known as Lucas, is a Hong Kong entertainer, rapper, and model based in both China and South Korea. He is a member of South Korean boy group NCT and its sub-unit WayV.

Early life[edit]

Lucas was born on 25 January 1999, and attended TWGHs Yow Kam Yuen College in Hong Kong.[1] Lucas' father is Chinese and his mother is Thai.[citation needed]

In 2015, Lucas participated in SM Entertainment's Global Audition held in Hong Kong as a model. He succeeded in the audition and later became part of SM Rookies, a pre-debut training team managed by SM Entertainment, in 2017.

2018–present: Debut with NCT, WayV and solo activities[edit]

In mid-January, SM Entertainment unveiled NCT 2018, a project involving all 18 members of NCT.[2][3] Lucas, together with Kun and Jungwoo, were introduced in SM's "NCT 2018 Yearbook #1," on 30 January 2018.[4] Lucas made his debut with NCT on March 14, with their debut studio album NCT 2018 Empathy.[5] Lucas took part in a total of three songs in the album, "Boss", "Yestoday" (both NCT U) and "Black on Black" (as NCT 2018).[6][7]

Lucas took part in SM Entertainment's project album, SM Station 3. Together with Jonah Nilsson, featuring Richard Bona, the single "Coffee Break" was released. Lucas was also featured in Girl's Generation member Kim Tae-yeon's "All Night Long" which peaked at 72nd on Gaon Digital Chart.

It was announced on 31 December 2018 that the fourth unit, WayV, managed by Label V, would be formed and is based in China. The unit consists of Kun, Winwin, Ten, Lucas, Hendery, Xiaojun, and Yangyang. They officially debuted on January 17, 2019 with their debut EP The Vision with the Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular" as its lead single.[8][9][10]

With his promotion in China with WayV, it was later announced that Lucas would join the cast of Keep Running for the new season.
