MTV Hits is a 24-hour non-stop pop music video channel from Viacom International Media Networks Europe launched on 1 May 2001. The channel is widely available in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey, Republic of Ireland, France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Romania, Israel, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Iceland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy.

MTV Hits began broadcasting in widescreen on 28 March 2012.

European versions[edit]

In 2014, MTV Hits, as well as MTV Rocks and MTV Dance started broadcasting European versions, without commercials or teleshopping.

On 17 November 2015, a french version of the channel was launched and the english version stops broadcasting in France, Switzerland and Belgium. This version replaced the french versions of MTV Base, MTV Pulse and MTV Idol.
