Madhray ( مدھرے) is small village near Phalia city, Mandi Bahauddin District, Punjab, Pakistan. The population of Madhray was calculated to be around about 4,000 in 2007. Majority of the population in this village are farmers.[1]
Geography
Madhray is situated at 32.46'48 N latitude and 73.50'28 E longitude.[2] It is located between the main cities of Mandi Bahauddin and Phalia, about 18 kilometres from Mandi Bahauddin, 7 kilometres from phalia, 45 kilometres from Malakwal and about 80 kilometres from Salam interchange on Motorway M2, at an altitude of 715 feet (218 m) above sea level.[3]
Weather
This village has a moderate climate, hot in summer and cold in winter. During peak summer, the temperature rises up to 44 °C (111 °F). The winter months are mild and the minimum temperature may fall below −2 °C (28 °F). The average annual rainfall in the district is 50 millimetres (2.0 in).
Education
Govt Islamia Millet High School Madhray,[4] established in early 70s, is a famous progressive school in Madhray. The village also hosts the Middle School for Girls Madhray. Two private schools in Madhray help make it a hub for quality education in the area. Now, the Girls Middle School has been upgraded to Girls High School.
