The Malappuram Urban Center or Malappuram urban agglomeration (UA) is an urban area consisting of City of Malappuram and its adjoining Municipalities and Panchayats. It has a Metropolitan population of 16,98,645 as per census 2011. It is the fourth largest urban agglomeration in the state and 24th biggest in the country. Its major area consists of Malappuram City and four Municipalities.
