Manduadih Railway Station is situated in Manduadih area of Varanasi in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is also a terminal station of Varanasi. Because of huge rush at Varanasi Junction the railway will develop as a high facilitated terminal. Recently National Flag of India hoisted in Manduadih Railway Station.

History[edit]

The Allahabad-Mau-Gorakhpur Main Line was constructed as a 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 38 in) wide metre gauge line by the Bengal and North Western Railway between 1899 and 1913. It was converted to 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) wide broad gauge in 1993-94.[1][2]

Station upgrades[edit]

There are plans to upgrade Manduadih railway station.[3]

Recently, Varanasi's Manduadih railway station was transformed completely. The newly transformed station now has a spacious waiting area, circulating area, booking/reservation office, cafeteria, food court, waiting rooms and more. Top-notch: The station also has AC lounge, AC and non-AC retiring rooms as well as dormitories. The architecture in the station premises reflects Kashi's faith. The surrounding of the station has fountains and seating area. Special lights have also been used which give the station a wonderful appeal at night. The premises are well lit with LED lights and cleanliness is top-notch. Employment: This station will not only provide world-class international standard facility to the passengers but, it will also offer employment to Varanasi citizens.

Ancient glory of Kashi: Railway minister Piyush Goyal shared the video of the station in a tweet which stated, "Manduadih Station of Varanasi is providing a new experience for travelers with its cleanliness and beautification, world-class facilities. This station, which revives the ancient glory of Kashi, is going to be one of the most beautiful stations in the country. [4]
