Mannarkkad, formerly known as Mannarghat, is a municipal town in Palakkad district of the Indian state of Kerala. Silent Valley National Park, Kanjirapuzha dam, Meenvallam waterfalls, Siruvani Reservoir, Pathrakadavu Waterfalls, Agali Hills, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary (Anakkatti) are tourist attractions in mannarkkad taluk. Mannarkkad is sometimes called the 'Gateway to Silent Valley', which is the largest evergreen rainforest in India. With two rivers, Kunthippuzha and Nellippuzha flowing through the region, the natural environment of Mannarkkad is further enhanced by the hills of Attappadi,[tone] which has one of the sizeable tribal settlements in Kerala.
