Danny Phantom is an American animated television series that ran on Nickelodeon from April 3, 2004 to August 24, 2007. The series follows Danny Fenton who, after an accident with an unpredictable portal between the human world and the supernatural "Ghost Zone", becomes half-ghost and frequently saves his town and the world from ghost attacks, while attempting to keep his ghost half a secret from everyone, except his best friends Sam Manson and Tucker Foley, and later, his sister Jazz.

Danny must channel his newfound powers into fighting this ghost, all the while keeping it a secret from everybody except his two best friends.

He asks her to go to the big dance with him by giving her an amulet he found, but his ghost abilities keep doing weird things, causing Mr. Lancer to have a parent teacher conference with his dad. Using his newfound ability to "overshadow" or inhabit another's body, he talks his way out of trouble in his dad's body. Problems arise at the dance when it turns out that the amulet he gave Paulina turns anybody angry into a huge ghost dragon.

Note: Danny discovers the ability to overshadow, or possess others in this episode.

Danny is up all night fighting the Box Ghost and attracts the attention of a Ghost Hunter named Skulker, who vows to catch Danny Phantom as he is rare and unique. Next day, Danny finds that he gets a D on the biology test. Sam suggests that he should do extra credit by doing a report on the purple back gorilla. To help Danny with his schedule, Tucker puts Danny's schedule into his PDA. Skulker spots Tucker's PDA and uses it to upgrade his armor. He gains more power, but becomes bound to Danny's schedule. Danny's very lucky, but how long will it last?

Meanwhile, the bullies in the school are being extra mean, and Danny decides to get some "ghostly getback". It's later revealed that the former owner of his locker, Sidney Pointdexter, was the main bully victim in his time. He punishes Danny for his actions by swapping bodies and dimensions with him, locking Danny in a mirror world of his High School.

A little girl's balloon string gets tangled around an ancient mystical lamp, making it fall to the ground and breaking accidentally which releases a wishing ghost named Desiree, who grants every wish she hears... only in a chaotic way. Danny is able to stop her with a new ghost ability he had discovered. But now, Tucker's envy over Danny has caused him to wish he has ghost powers and abilities too. Danny's really getting annoyed by this, and he soon finds out that Tucker's envy will transform him into the strongest and most powerful ghost boy ever. Can Danny stop him in time?

Jack brings his entire family to Wisconsin for his college reunion, hosted by his old friend, Vlad Masters. It's strange enough that Danny's finding ghosts on his vacation, but what's even more mysterious is the fact that he finds out three things about Vlad. He hates Jack because he caused an accident at college, and ever since then, he's been trying to steal Maddie away from Jack, and three, the biggest one, the accident that had caused him to acquire ghost abilities as well, and is now Danny's greatest mortal archenemy!

Note: This is the only episode where Tucker and Sam don't make an appearance.

Danny is afraid that his parents are going to get divorced, and accidentally knocks Jack's wedding anniversary gift to Maddie into the Ghost Zone. Danny is determined to get it back, but he is caught by a ghost warden bent on making up rules to retain order in his section of the Ghost Zone. Danny is locked up in the Ghost Zone Prison for 1,000 years alongside many of the ghosts he's fought and sent back to the Ghost Zone. He manages to persuade them to work with him to bust out of the prison. As the other ghosts escape, he turns back into the prison cell to retrieve Jack's anniversary gift to Maddie, in which he finds out that humans can't be hurt by ghosts, because in the Ghost Zone, humans are the ghosts.

Note: Starting with this episode onwards, The Lunch Lady Ghost is now voiced by Kath Soucie for the rest of the series.

While outwardly peppy and spirited, in reality she is a ghost feeding on the students' misery in order to remain perpetually young. Jazz attempts to get to the bottom of Danny's current unusual personality, but he attempts to elude her, causing Jazz to accidentally witness Danny transforming into his ghostly alter ego. Jazz keeps his secret and decides to wait until he is ready to tell her.

Danny is having difficulty with a ghost dog and every time it appears, it causes trouble. Within the Axion building, the ghost dog goes out of control and the security system, designed by Valerie Gray's father, was ineffective in stopping the ghost dog from destroying the lab. As Valerie's life turns upside down because of Danny Phantom, a generous benefactor, later revealed to be Vlad Plasmius, helps Valerie with her revenge on Danny Phantom by turning her into a ghost hunter.

Note: This is the first time where Mr. Lancer, Jack, and Maddie do not make an appearance and this is also the first time where Valerie is now voiced by Cree Summer for the rest of the series onwards.

When Danny challenges her, she hypnotizes him with a "love song." Now infatuated with Sam, Danny can't focus on the real threat and Sam must find a way to break his heart to get him fighting again.

Mr. Lancer decides to give him another chance by letting him retake his test, but when Technus escapes and tries to take over the world by using his ghost powers in the online game, Danny has to pass his test. After studying with Lancer he manages to pass and return to the game. In order to defeat Technus, he decides to use his ghost powers to counter Technus's, and he catches up with Sam and Tucker in the game. The three of them successfully trap Technus in a glitch in the game before Mr. Lancer stops them by having his own online game.

Meanwhile, Tucker tries to change his image, and ends up being labeled "Bad Luck Tuck", unknowingly being the inadvertent target of Johnny's bad luck Shadow.

As first Danny battles, then befriends, a hulking ghost named Wulf, Walker and his goons overshadow most of the people in Danny's inner circle. While eluding attacks from his ghost-fighting parents. Danny defeats Walker and restores calm in the city, earning the title of "Public Ghost Enemy #1" in the process!

He also launches a huge ghost attack on Fenton Works, hoping to eliminate Jack. Meanwhile, Jack tries to bond with Jazz. Jazz on the other hand wants nothing to do with ghosts, but turns out to be a great ghost hunter after all.

And if Danny ruins Kitty's plans by turning her down, she will (as Paulina) tell the entire town that he is the Ghost Boy. In this episode, Danny Phantom is labeled as "Inviso-Bill".

Note: Paulina gains an active crush on "Inviso-Bill" in this episode, while ignoring Danny in real life.

He handcuffs them together on his island and hunts them, holding the sack as ransom.

Many hired ghost hunters are parodies of other mystery shows. Men in Black and Scooby-Doo are paralleled as teams bent on capturing Danny.

Danny is desperate to pass a standardized test called the C.A.T. After a fight with a ghost from the future sent by the mysterious Clockwork puts the answers to the C.A.T. in his hands, he decides to cheat in hopes of securing an easy pass to a great future. After fighting another ghost from the future, he, Sam and Tucker discover that Danny cheating leads to a horrible future where after the death of his family and friends, Danny grows up to be Dan Phantom, the evilest and most powerful ghost on the planet who terrorizes the world. Upon discovering Clockwork's interference, Dan tries to make sure Danny's horrible future comes to pass. To save his friends, family and future, Danny must dig deep and do the right thing to ensure he becomes a better man.

Note: Danny gains a new power: The Ghostly Wail, which is much stronger than his other powers due to him acquiring it ten years early. Because he acquired it prematurely, Danny's body is not physically developed enough yet to properly handle the drain that comes with using this power; using it taxes Danny's energy reserves enough to revert him to human form immediately afterwards.

Danny is curious and tries to ask why and how but Dani gets out of it by pretending to feel weak and faints into Danny's arms. The next day Danny tries again but are interrupted by a ghost leaving Sam and Tucker to clean the cafeteria in detention before Sam and Tucker realize Danny is captured by Vlad and Dani and Sam and Tucker try to run away from detention and save Danny. Then Danny finds out Dani is a imperfection of himself created by no other..... Vlad Masters. Leaving Dani, Sam, and Tucker to save Danny before it's too late. But will they or Dani get them out of trouble with Danny's parents and Mr. Lancer?

Summer vacation is put on hold when Freakshow kidnaps Danny and his family and friends, ordering them to find the Reality Gems: the Gem of Life, the Gem of Form and the Gem of Fantasy, for the Reality Gauntlet (with the Power Source) in exchange for their lives, but complications arise when Danny's secret is accidentally revealed to the entire world, including the Guys in White.

Danny wakes up from a dream-powered machine, only to find the citizens of Amity Park all under the same deep sleep, thanks to the ghost of dreams Nocturn, who is sucking up their dreams to increase his energy. Danny must wake his friends and sister in order to stop the threat. Dash ends up becoming the "poster boy for nightmares" as he's what Danny uses to wake up his friends and Jazz.

Note: Danny and Sam have notice each others' hidden feelings.

A Fenton invention ends up saving Dani after she turns to goo. In the end, Valerie finds out that Vlad Masters is Vlad Plasmius.

Vlad concocts a plan to humiliate Danny into hiding, unbeknownst to him that the world will need a hero when an asteroid hurtles toward Earth, threatening not only Earth, but the Ghost Zone as well. Vlad reveals his ghost-half to the entire world in order to gain world domination, but fails. Danny convinces every ghost to turn the whole Earth intangible to save it. Jazz ends up telling her parents Danny's secret after the Fenton jet crashes and they think Danny is inside. Danny reveals his secret to the world, which is accepted with great enthusiasm, gets a statue of his likeness erected in the capital city of every country in his honor, and ends up finally dating Sam.
