Maximilian Maria MacAulay (Polish: Maksymilian Maria MacAulay [maksɨˌmʲilʲjan ˌmarʲja məˈkɔːlɪ]; born January 31, 1986) is a Polish priest with the honorary dignity of a canon and R.M. incardinated to the Polish-Catholic Church in United Kingdom. Between Jul - Aug 2017 he was the Ordinary of the Territorial Prefecture of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland belonging to the Old Catholic Church of Republic of Poland.[1] Monsignore MacAulay is also a Parish Priest of Polish-Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Glasgow.

Biography[edit]

Maximilian MacAulay was born on January 31, 1986 in Czestochowa, Poland. In 2002, he started studies in Roman Catholic Lower Ecclesiastical Seminary of Archdiocese of Czestochowa. MacAulay stopped studying at the seminary for family reasons. In 2006, he was the founder of NZOZ (en. Private Health Care) Emergency Ambulance Services in Czestochowa and was the director for 4 years. In 2010, MacAulay moved to Glasgow, Scotland and joined to High Ecclesiastical Seminary of St Mary, where he studied remotely. In 2015, MacAulay was ordained a priest by hand of bp Andrew Hall. In the same year he was installed as a parish priest of Polish-Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Glasgow.[2][3]

Chapel

In 2017, MacAulay established the Chapel of the Saint José Sánchez del Río, which is housed in a Clergy house. From Chapel MacAulay broadcasts Holy Masses daily by YouTube.[3]

Until Jul, 23 2017, after the VI Extraordinary Synod of the Old Catholic Church in Poland, MacAulay was nominated for the Prelate and was established the Ordinary of new erected The Territorial Prefecture of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He held the office of the Ordinary until August 2017.[4]

He was a consultor to the development of Canon Law of the Old Catholic Church in Poland adopted by the VI Extraordinary Synod in 2017.[5]

Currently, Canon MacAulay is incardinated to the Polish-Catholic Church in United Kingdom, where his Prelate title was turned into a Canon.
