The Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 is an act of the Parliament of India that governs the construction of works relating to metro railways in metropolitan cities in the country. When it was enacted in 1978, the Act applied in the first instance to the metropolitan city of Calcutta (now Kolkata).
