Donnelly played for the Australian three-on-three basketball team that competed in the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore, where she earned a silver medal after a loss to China in the finals, but not before upsetting the Americans in the semi-finals. She was a member of the Australian Institute of Sport in the Women's National Basketball League during the 2011/2012 season. She returned to Queensland to play for the Logan Thunder for the 2012/13 WNBL season.
