Tyler Green is an American art journalist. He wrote and edited the art blog Modern Art Notes (MAN) from September 2001 through May 2014. In May 2014, the U.S. chapter of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA-USA) awarded Green one of its two inaugural awards for art criticism. The award included a citation for the MAN Podcast. (The other inaugural award was given to New York Times critic Holland Cotter.) He is working on a biography of artist Carleton Watkins that will be published by University of California Press.[3]

From 2010-2014 Green was the columnist for the monthly art magazine, Modern Painters.[4] He is a member of the United States section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA).[5]

Green is known for breaking stories in the museum field,[6] and is a frequent lecturer on art and arts journalism. His journalism includes coverage of conservation and restoration issues, and in 2012 he gave a keynote presentation at the 40th Annual Meeting of the American Institute for Conservation.[7]
