Connecting transit[edit]

There are no bus connections at this station.

VTA Bus Route 59, which previously served this station, was discontinued on January 14, 2008 as a result of updates to VTA bus service.

In fall 2017, VTA Bus Routes 47, 60, 66, 70, 71, 77 will serve the light rail station when the Milpitas BART Station opens.[2]

Future BART station[edit]

Montague station is planned as a future transfer point between VTA light rail and BART as part of the BART San Jose extension project. On March 23, 2015 the station was closed for reconstruction of the existing stairs, elevator modifications, installation of a new escalator and construction of a deck connecting the bridge to the future Milpitas BART Station until August 31, 2015.[3][4][5] The station was scheduled to close again for three months starting on January 30, 2017 to facilitate construction of the transit facility,[6][7] but it is postponed until further notice.[8]
