The Nations Cup (previously the 4 Nations Netball Cup and the 5 Nations Netball Cup) is an annual netball competition organised by Netball Singapore.

History[edit]

The Cup was first held in 2006 in Singapore and featured Papua New Guinea, Scotland and Canada.[1]

The 2007 competition, which was held at Toa Payoh Sports Hall in Singapore, was won by the Singapore Netball National Team. Canada, Northern Ireland, Sri Lanka and Trinidad & Tobago also competed.[2]

The 2008 competition was won by Papua New Guinea who defeated Botswana in the final. The other three competitors were Singapore, Samoa and Sri Lanka.[3][4]

In 2009, Northern Ireland emerged as the winner, defeating their long-time rivals, Scotland, 49-34. Other competitors include Singapore, Canada, Malaysia and Tanzania.[5]

Scotland, Wales, Tanzania, Singapore, Namibia and India competed in 2010.[6]

In 2013, Singapore and Uganda battled for the Nations Cup title in front of over 2,000 noisy fans. Uganda took the title on their inaugural visit to the Nations Cup with a 29-52 result.[7]
