-Broughton is the new home to the [[International Baccalaureate]] diploma programme (IB), a rigorous course of study for dedicated students recognized around the world. As part of this program, sophomores are required to complete a personal project.  In addition, it offers over 25 [[Advanced Placement]] (AP) courses to challenge the upper tier of its students. -Broughton was the first public high school to be built in downtown Raleigh.
