The Parliament of Tasmania consists of the Tasmanian House of Assembly, Tasmanian Legislative Council and the Monarch represented by the Governor of Tasmania.

The leader of the party or coalition with the confidence of the House of Assembly is invited by the Governor of Tasmania to form a government. The head of the government is the Premier of Tasmania.
