Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen (abbreviated "PPAP"; Japanese: ペンパイナッポーアッポーペン) is a 2016 Japanese earworm-style music video performed by Piko-Taro (Pico-Taro), a fictional singer-songwriter created by Japanese comedian Kosaka Daimaou (whose real name is Kazuhito Kosaka[1]).[2] It was first posted on YouTube on 25 August 2016[3] and has since gone viral, with over 50 million views and over 553 thousand likes. The video was also posted on Facebook by 9GAG, where it has over 59 million views, over 500 thousand likes and almost 1 million shares. Justin Bieber has shared the video on his Twitter account and captioned it as his "favorite video on the Internet".[4] It has been dubbed as the 'next Gangnam Style' by other people and the media.[5][6][7][8][9]
