Jessica Ann Simpson (born July 10, 1980) is an American singer, actress, television personality and fashion designer whose rise to fame began in 1999. Since that time, Simpson has achieved many recording milestones, starred in several television shows, movies, and commercials, launched a line of hair and beauty products, and designed fragrances, shoes, and handbags for women. She has devoted time to philanthropic efforts including Operation Smile and a USO-hosted tour for troops stationed overseas.

She has achieved seven Billboard Top 40 hits, three gold and two Multi- Platinum RIAA certified studio albums, four of which have reached the top 10 on the US Billboard 200. Simpson starred with her then-husband Nick Lachey in the MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. She ventured into the country music market in 2008 and released Do You Know.

She has sold 20 million records worldwide. Simpson has a total of records sales in Australia of more than 426,000 copies and was ranked in the # 113 on the 1000 artists chart of ARIA Music Decade Charts (1980–2010). In 2009, Billboard named Simpson as the 95th overall best Artists of the Decade. Simpson also was ranked at number 86 on Billboard 200 Artists, solely based on album sales.

The discography of Jessica Simpson, an American pop and country singer, consists of six studio albums, two compilation albums, fourteen singles, and fifteen music videos. Her debut album, Sweet Kisses (1999), was released through Columbia Records, reached number twenty-five on the US Billboard 200 albums chart, and was certified double-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album sold 1.9 million copies in the US and produced three singles. Simpson's debut single, "I Wanna Love You Forever", reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. In 2001, Simpson released her second studio effort, titled Irresistible.

"In This Skin" is the fourth studio album by American pop singer Jessica Simpson. The album was released on August 19, 2003 in the United States by Columbia Records. A version of the album with bonus tracks and a DVD was released on March 2, 2004 to build on the success of the album. "In This Skin" was certified three-times platinum in the United States, and has sold over seven million copies worldwide, becoming Simpson's biggest selling album to date. According to Billboard magazine the album was ranked the number 153 on the list of top-selling album of the 2000s.

In This Skin became Simpson's biggest selling album. It reached number two on the Billboard 200 album charts and made the Australian album charts in 2004. While the Diane Warren song the "Sweetest Sin" failed to reach the US top forty, the second single "With You," produced by Andy Marvel, enjoyed more success going top twenty in the US and Australia. The third single, a cover of "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin, which also went to the top twenty in the US, appeared as a bonus track on the album's re-release in 2004. A cover version of "Angels" by Robbie Williams also appeared as a bonus track on the release and was released as the fourth single.

"Sweetest Sin" is a song recorded by American recording artist Jessica Simpson. It was written by Dianne Warren and produced by Ric Wake, for Simpson's third studio album In This Skin (2003). It was released as the album's first single, on June 22, 2003 through Columbia Records. Musically, the song is a mid-tempo ballad and the lyrics speak about what would be the sweetest sin between a couple. The song received positive reviews from critics, with some calling it a catchy-tune and the ode to booty knocking. The song failed to chart into the United States' Hot 100, peaking at number twenty-four on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.
