Portal:New York Roads/Nominate/Selected article
You can help choose which articles are recognized as selected articles by the New York Roads Portal. Selected articles are assessed as GA-Class or better, well illustrated with multiple photos of the actual highway and a map, and fully referenced with inline citations. Selected articles are also well written and meet or exceed all guidelines laid out by the Wikipedia Manual of Style and the New York State Routes WikiProject.
Every year, each region is assigned a set number of portal appearances based on analysis of the previous year's listings (posted on this page's talk page). You may nominate an article for one of these slots or nominate an article for any slot that may become available due to a lack of nominations or worthy articles for a particular region. To vote for a nominated article, add support, oppose, or comment, give detailed reasons on why you voted the way you did, and sign. In order to ensure that the main project page will be updated on time, nominations for the upcoming month will be closed two days before the end of the current month.
The regions used by this portal correspond to the 11 regions established by NYSDOT.
