Wikiproject Quebec[edit]

Why is this portal under the scope of Wikiproject Quebec? It may have been initiated there, but it doesn't make a lot of sense on a go-forward basis. Acadians and Québécois are distinct from one another. It's kind of tantamount to putting an Alberta portal under the scope of Wikiproject British Columbia, which doesn't make a lot of sense notwithstanding the commonalities between the two provinces. It should be under the scope of WikiProject Acadia. So far, there is only such a project in the French-language Wikipedia. -- Mathieugp (talk) 23:10, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
Fair enough, but that doesn't explain why it is under Wikiproject Quebec in the meantime. The Canadian or New Brunswick wikiprojects make a lot more sense. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 13:48, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
Never mind. The oddity has been removed. Thanks. --Skeezix1000 (talk) 13:49, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

New England states[edit]

I am confused as to why the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island projects are here? None of those three states had any French influence whatsoever, nor any French colonies as far as I am aware. I am unsure about Vermont, New Hampshire or Maine but would be surprised about the first two as well. Markvs88 (talk) 21:19, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I have simply remove all and added those from main article..PS all my fault!!! Moxy (talk) 21:23, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
No problem! I was just wondering how that all worked out. :-) Thanks, Markvs88 (talk) 21:34, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

There are acadian communities in Maine along the border to Canada (crossing over the river to the other side) on the northern tip. Maine should actually be readded. Vermont has contemporary French speaking communities, unsure about their status as acadian or Quebecker in origin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.217.224.254 (talk) 15:53, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
