Portal template icon[edit]

Several articles link to this portal but they use the {{Portal}} template incorrectly: They use it as {{Portal|Dallas|}} rather than just {{Portal|Dallas}}. This causes visual problems. Please help fix this up. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 14:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Portal[edit]

By posting links everywhere, I am hoping to attract constant attention to this portal so it can be fixed sooner and so it will stay fixed. WhisperToMe (talk) 14:41, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

WhisperToMe, I came here because I noticed the link you just added to Lewisville, Texas. I think there are three problems with the links you're posting: First, they point to Portal:Dallas, which only redirects here (for now). Second, you're actually using the label "Dallas Portal", which is misleading. Third, they use the flag of Dallas, which is again misleading. I suppose it should be a priority to decide on another icon to be used to represent Dallas - Fort Worth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Balfa (talkcontribs) 14:23, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
I concur with Balfa's sentiments. Furthermore, I think the portal should be renamed to Portal:Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for clarity. MahangaTalk 15:11, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Actually, you just reminded me of something else. "Category:Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex" was just recently renamed to "Category:Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex". We should use that name here, too. Balfa (talk) 17:10, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
1. Well, as long as the redirect works, then the portal is being linked to and people are seeing it.
2. I suppose I'll from now on post "Portal Dallas-Fort Worth" - Portal Dallas, though isn't really misleading - it's just not actually the name being used. Dallas is the more dominant of the two cities, and the name can be used as a shorthand for the DFW area and it is the more
3. The issues described in the post at 14:23, 7 December 2009 are very minor. The real problem is the fact that this portal isn't being updated.

Moved the portal to Portal:Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex. If anyone wants to contribute anything to the subsections, feel free. MahangaTalk
