Colour[edit]

Light blue wikilinks are hard to read on the grey background. Otherwise, looks awesome. :) --Geniac (talk) 14:47, 9 January 2010 (UTC) Doesnt it! so impressed - its only been up a few hours :0 - many many thanks to pollinossisss !!! SatuSuro 14:50, 9 January 2010 (UTC) Colour has been fixed - much more readable but sufficiently in the mood so to speak SatuSuro 15:56, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I like the colours - nice and sombre, yet peaceful on the eye.... Casliber (talk · contribs) 11:35, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

German death portal[edit]

It turns out the German Wikipedia has a death portal as well. It's interesting to see what they've done with it. -Pollinosisss (talk) 06:48, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Seasons Greetings[edit]

Merry Christmas from me! Thanks for your company during 2016. We have seen the percentage of articles on women rise from 15.5% to 16.77%. 20% is within our grasp and that's an increase of 11% over what we first found. Related portal images[edit]

I've used a template for the list of related portals. The specific reason was the image used for the "Biography" portal; we don't even know who that person is, and I don't think using that image is particularly appropriate. Some standardization couldn't hurt anyway. While I was at it, I also renamed that part to "related portals". I thought about creating a separate sub page (and couldn't quite figure out how to get the box header to not link to the non-existing subage but ultimately didn't see any benefit to having one. Number of Deaths per Year[edit]

The figure in "Roughly 150,000 people die each day across the globe" seems grossly understated, likely by three orders of magnitude. Jewzip (talk) 03:14, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

@Jewzip: The figure is copied from the Death article, where it has a reference, and page 6 of the reference gives exactly this figure. My back-of-the-envelope calculation comes to 300,000 deaths per day: 7,500,000,000 people divided by a lifetime of about 25,000 days. -- John of Reading (talk) 07:05, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
