The admin who closed the discussion at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Isle of Man wishes to have this portal merged into the UK Portal or moved it to user space. I consider both these outcomes to be unacceptable. The I of M is not part of the UK. I have removed the boxes that merely contain redlinks as this was given as one reason for deletion. They can of course always be put back in if people are prepared to write the required sub-article. There seems to be plenty of articles about the Isle of Man. Is nobody willing to maintain this Portal? --Bduke 21:14, 6 February 2007 (UTC) I agree this portal can not be merged with the U. It is not part of the UK! What a silly suggestion! --Camaeron (talk) 16:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I just added a sentence about QEII being the lord of man, hope that's ok with everyone here! --Camaeron (talk) 16:09, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Obbyr 2016 December[edit]

I would ask (although I am not familiar with how to do it) that the following entries be removed from the 'Things you can do' list:

The following persons were never governors of the Isle Of Man: Thomas Gerrard (governor), Peter Legh, John Ireland (governor), Nicholas Stanley, Charles Zedenno Stanley, Robert Mawdesley (governor), Alexander Horne, John Lloyd (governor), Thomas Horton (governor), Patrick Lindsey, Basil Cochrane, Edward Smith (governor). This according to Page 277-8 of the 'Governors Of The Isle of Man Since 1765 (Pub. 1999 ISBN No. 0952401959 by the Manx Heritage Foundation, written by Derek Winterbottom). That said we do need a 'Isle of Man governors' Template for a list of the actual past Isle of Man governors, doing.

As for the 1974-2004 Isle of Man TT page I have found various results that are quite well documented and extensive over at imuseum.im . I shall endeavour to update these wiki-pages in the coming months. Yselnne (talk) 15:47, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
