Thanks! And don't be afraid to contribute here too! ;) JF Lepage (talk) 11:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
What a great site! Don't know if it's part of a WikiProject, but if it is and you need a helping hand simply contact me. I work on a lot of Portals so time is slightly limited but I always make time for a challenge!! Wiki User 68 Blah Stuff 21:45, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Population

The comparison between British and French populations is very interesting. Perhaps it should state these are Europeans (or European descent). 'People' would include the native population as well. Also, New France included both upper and lower Louisiana. Hughespj (talk) 16:18, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your remarks. Excuse my poor english ok? After verification here for New England and here for New France, it appears about 1730 that the difference is rather than 250 000 and 30 000 people of European origin (comprising immigration and European descent). I rectified the introduction, and on the french version too. You know, this portal is under construction and I am feeling lonely to work on it until now. If you're willing to join me to work on this subject, you're welcome! Thanks again! Best regards, JF Lepage (talk) 02:11, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Saint Leon, Indiana

I just came across Saint Leon, Indiana in the last few days as I was amending St. Leon, British Columbia (the Indiana entry had been the target of both Saint Leon and St. Leon redirects....now disambiguation pages). It seems almost too obvious, but there's nothing on it on the Indiana town page - was this founded during the days of New France? There is a List of French placenames in the United States but I doubt there's List of settlements of New France now in the United States - not the best title, but the idea seems workable/appropriate. St. Louis, New Orleans, Terre Haute, Detroit and Pittsburgh (Fort Duquesne) of course; but what about Joliet, Saint Leon, Marquette etc etc?Skookum1 (talk) 21:00, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for long time to respond. Excuse my poor english, ok? I am working a lot on french wikipedia than the english one. You submited a good idea but I am living in Canada and I don't have the books to source that. Maybe, you should ask to Magicpiano or Mathieugp help you to write this article? Notice from the Portals WikiProject

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:39, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
