Wow, looks like I am the second person here. Tourskin 05:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

The American War of 1812[edit]

Allegedly this was the British name for the war, but I'm a Brit and have never heard it called anything but "the War of 1812". The War of 1812 page does not say this. Deleted the reference.

By the way, the portal doesn't point adequately to the main page for the War of 1812; it took me several minutes to find a link to it on the portal page. It should be much more prominent. The portal appears dominated by trivia. Cyclopaedic (talk) 19:20, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

I plan to overhaul this. t looks like someone just did a run thru when creating it. It needs several tweaks, but I can get it done eventually.--King Bedford I Seek his grace 19:24, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
That's strange, my edit of the intro didn't appear on the portal page. Goes into the "too difficult" tray - move on! Cyclopaedic (talk) 19:29, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Wait a second...hold the phone. That lead is looking fishy to me. It makes it sound as though this was a war of British aggression (which it was..to an extent), but leaves out the continental aspirations of the American political leadership. Could that possibly be fixed/corrected? Cam (Chat) 00:33, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
All I did with the intro was link the war's article to it. We can debate the intro to something more neutral.--King Bedford I Seek his grace 05:49, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

War of 1812 Bicentennial[edit]

Please note the new War of 1812 Bicentennial article. Please update and change as needed. Bill Whittaker (talk) 18:53, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Fort Saint Pierre (Canada)[edit]

Fort Saint Pierre had connections to this portal. I removed them. If the fort had anything to do with 1812 please correct and add references. Benjamin Trovato (talk) 14:50, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Maria Hill, Daughter of the Regiment[edit]

this article was flagged for the war 1812 project as a start class. hoping someone could take a look and see if it's advanced beyond start class. also, I've made extensive (?excessive) us of blockquote because of the obscurity of the references and the fact that the many small quotes tell her tale well. would appreciate a 2nd set of eyes to determine if i'm quoting too much. thanks for any helpIan Furst (talk) 02:00, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
