Promenade MRT Station (CC4/DT15) is an underground Mass Rapid Transit interchange station in Downtown Core, Singapore, located along Temasek Avenue near the Millennia Walk shopping mall.[1]

It is the fourth station along the counter-clockwise-bound Circle Line track. The station was opened on 17 April 2010 along with the rest of Stage 1 & 2 of the Circle Line. On 14 January 2012, Circle Line Extension was opened and this station became an interchange for the extension. On 22 December 2013, this station became an interchange with the Downtown Line.[2] Passengers heading to Bayfront or Marina Bay should head to Circle Line's Platform B (towards Dhoby Ghaut or Marina Bay). An announcement will be made, notifying commuters when the train going towards Marina Bay arrives. Passengers heading to Bayfront also have the additional option of taking the Downtown Line here.

Branching of Routes

The Circle Line branches out to 2 routes at this station. The first route goes to the Downtown Core southwest of the Singapore River towards Marina Bay via Bayfront with an extension towards HarbourFront to complete the circle in 2025. The second route is currently the main route, and goes to stations in the part of the Downtown Core northeast of the Singapore River (Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah and Esplanade).

Deepest Station

With the construction of the Downtown Line platforms below the Circle Line platforms, this station is currently the deepest station in the entire Mass Rapid Transit network. Its deepest platform is located at Basement 7, where the Downtown MRT Line side platform with trains bound for Bukit Panjang sits, with a depth of 43 meters below ground.[3]

Art in Transit

The Circle Line part of the station features giant drips of disco balls suspended from the ceiling. This artwork is by :phunk and is titled "Dreams in a Social Cosmic Odyssey".[4]

The Downtown Line platforms of the station features an artwork that depicts the grounds of tiers of Singapore's history, culture, growth and development. It is "Earthcake" by Ana Prvacki.[5]
