Purgatory is the name of a DC Comics supervillain.

History[edit]

Paul Christian is a man who lost his legs in a subway accident. Years later, he was almost injured during a battle involving Green Lantern V (Kyle Rayner). To make amends, Kyle used his power ring to give Paul new legs.[1] Following another accident, it affected Paul's willpower, causing him to lose his legs.[2]

During the Underworld Unleashed storyline, Paul was desperate to get his legs back. He accepted Neron's offer to regain his legs and was given superpowers. As the green flame-emitting Purgatory, he was sent to kill Green Lantern V. After failing to do so twice, Purgatory was taken to Hell by Neron.[3]

Powers and abilities[edit]

Neron gave Paul Christian the ability to emit green flame as an attack.
