QikPad was a free collaboration software tool based on EtherPad that allowed multiple users to see text updates in real time.[1][2][3][4]

QikPad shut down in late 2014.

QikPad allows multiple users to see updates made to a pad in real time. Users can collaborate on a range of different documents and projects.[5][6][7][8][9][10]

QikPad works with no sign-up required. Once a pad has been created, functions include:

  • Collaborative text editing - all users can update a pad without having to sign in
  • Chat – there is chat box that allows users to talk without changing the text window
  • History rewind – users can cycle back through the history of a pad

QikPad is a browser-based application that runs on various operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux. Tested browsers include Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3.0+, Chrome 4+, and Safari 4+.

QikPad is a web-based tool, so will work on any computer with a broadband connection.
