The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hankou (Template:Lang-la, Chinese: 漢口) is an archdiocese based in the city of Hankou in China. It is now, due to the political situation, an underground diocese.

History

  • 1696: Established as Apostolic Vicariate of Hupeh and Hunan from the Apostolic Vicariate of Fujian
  • 1856: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Hupeh
  • September 11, 1870: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Hupeh
  • December 12, 1923: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Hankou
  • 1946.04.11: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Hankou
