The second says that the name Rubió derives of the Latin toponym rufus that means blond, through the name Rubione, that was possessor of a property to the zone during the Roman period.

The coat-of-arms is from modern times. They were granted on 12 February 1996. The shield shows to the inferior part a castle of colour of gules with Fleur-of-lis to the centre. To the top there is one mural crown of the village. The castle refers to the castle of Rubió, at present in ruins.
