The russet-mantled softtail (Cranioleuca berlepschi) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is endemic to northern Peru.
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Taxonomy[edit]
The russet-mantled softtail was formerly placed in the genus Thripophaga. It was moved to Cranioleuca based on a large molecular phylogenetic study of the suboscines published in 2020.[2][3]
