Ryan Newman (born April 24, 1998[1]) is an American actress and model. She is known for her role as Ginger Falcone in Disney XD's Zeke and Luther. Other major roles include Allison in The Thundermans, Cindy Collins in Zoom, and Emily Hobbs in See Dad Run. As a child model, Newman has participated in photo shoots such as Inspire Magazine, Kaiya Eve Photoshoots 2009 and Dream Magazine, as well as modeling for fashion designer Sherri Hill.[citation needed]

Early life[edit]

Newman was born in Manhattan Beach, California. She went to Pennekamp Elementary school up until fourth grade. She attended Rancho Pico Junior High School in Stevenson Ranch, California. Newman has described herself as "half Jewish, half Christian ... mostly Jewish".[2] At age three, Newman entered the entertainment industry as she began auditioning for print and television commercials. At an early age, Newman was in a Kraft Cheese commercial which was aired internationally for more than two years.

Newman made her first film appearances at the age of seven, in the films Monster House and Zoom. In Zoom, she portrays a young super hero, which required her to train in martial arts. On the small screen, Newman appeared in several seasons of Disney's hit show Hannah Montana as a young Miley as well as in the Disney Channel Original Series, Good Luck Charlie. Later, she appeared as the antagonist, Ginger Falcone, in Zeke and Luther. In 2010, Newman won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series by a Leading Actress, ahead of Miley Cyrus for Hannah Montana and Miranda Cosgrove for iCarly. Newman not only works in films and television shows, but has also appeared in commercials.[citation needed]

In 2012, Newman was cast as the lead role of Emily Hobbs, on See Dad Run, which premiered on Nick at Nite on October 6, 2012. See Dad Run ran three seasons before ending in 2015.[3] At the end of July 2014 she traveled to Cambodia, supporting Heifer International.[4] In 2015, Newman was cast in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! playing the role of Claudia Shepard, which she took over from Aubrey Peeples, who played the role in Sharknado.[5]
