The company was founded and named in 1997 by former CEO Bobby Yazdani. The word Saba means "knowing" or “new beginning” in many languages, and represents the company’s vision for organizational transformation through a people-centric learning and development process and platform, to enhance an organization’s competitive strategy. The company went public in April 2000. Saba Learning was the company’s first LMS product, known for driving learning throughout organizations and extended enterprises, developing talent knowledge and skills, and consolidating multiple learning systems. In May 2005, it acquired THINQ Learning Solutions, [4] Centra Software in 2006,[5] Pedagogue Solutions and Comartis in June 2011 and Human Concepts in March 2012.[6]
