MLA Sandeep Naik (born August 4, 1978),[1] Sandeep Naik son of Nationalist Congress party heavyweight and state Excise Minister and Non-conventional Energy Minister Shri Ganesh Naik and younger brother of Thane NCP and NCP Chief Whip MP Sanjeev Naik.

Standing Committee chairman

Sandeep Naik is the Standing Committee chairman once again. [2] "We won this post unopposed, as no other corporator filed his nominations papers for this post on Thursday, at the NMMC headquarters. So no voting was required," said NMMC secretary Chandrakant Devkar. Naik was declared chairman of the Standing Committee 2009-10 by the divisional commissioner of Konkan Bhavan.

Krida Mahotsav 2009[4] On the first day of the event, NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik was present to encourage and cheer the students. Teams of boys and girls in age group 12 years, 14 years, and 16 years came together to show their talent in sports like kabaddi and kho-kho.

Vidhan Sabha election 2009.[6] NCP-Congress alliance candidate Sandeep Naik registered victory in the Airoli constituency. He defeated Shiv Sena-BJP candidate, political archrival of the Naiks, by 11,964 votes. Sandeep got 79,075 votes out of the total 1,57,751 votes cast, while 67,118 voters favoured BJP-shivshena Candidate.

Vidhan Sabha election 2014

Congress, NCP, BJP, Shiv Sena - all four parties contested these elections by their own. Naik and Vijay Chougule ran from their respective parties again. Naik's cousin Vaibhav ran on a BJP ticket. He had joined the Sena in the build-up to the Lok Sabha elections a few months ago, but he switched to the BJP, because he was denied a ticket by the Sena.
