Sport Clube Sanjoanense (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Sanjoanensi also in the São Vicente Crioulo) is a sports club that its football (soccer) team plays in the Boa Vista Island League in Cape Verde. The team is based in the island of Boa Vista. The team has never won any title.

About the club[edit]

Apart from football (soccer) there are also in the club an athletics department.

The club and the logo are not related to the Portuguese club Sanjoanense.

Its logo is triangular colored aqua with the full club name in the white colored tab in the middle and on top, the camel.

The club suffered in the 2015-16 season and had a winless season, it had three draws and totalled three points, the club was eight. Their last win at the championship was at the end of the 2015 season.

Sanjoanense started the 2016-17 season not as last season, they lost the first three matches and were last placed. The season's first win came on February 5 and ended their 17 match losing streak after a 0-1 victory over Estância Baixo. Their position reached third at the sixth round and made their fourth straight win at the 8th round after defeating Juventude, Africa Show, Sporting and Onze Estrelas. Another loss came on April 1 where they lost to Rabil's Africa Show and their position dropped to 5th after two losses, the last was to Académica Operária on April 9. From the 12th round, they were fifth and they would finish for the season. Their recent win was a 3-2 victory over Sporting. Sanjoanense finished with 22 points and had 7 wins and scored 18 goals.

The club trains at Fundo das Figueiras, its matches are played at Estádio Municipal Arsénio Ramos which is a multi-use stadium in Sal Rei, Cape Verde. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 500. The stadium is home to the island's best football clubs including Académica Operária and Sporting Boa Vista. It is also the home of Sanjoanense. Clubs from other parts of the island plays at the stadium. The club also practices at the stadium.
