Highway 44 is a highway in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It runs from Highway 7 near Alsask to Highway 11 near Davidson. Highway 44 is about 329 km (204 mi) long.[1] It crosses the South Saskatchewan River atop the Gardiner Dam. It also provides access to Danielson Provincial Park.

Contemporary issues

The road has been in poor condition for years. Travel for most of 2015 proved quite difficult for many motorist who did not have large vehicles such as farm equipment or a truck. As of May 2016 the road decay and hazards have become more numerous. Within this time, repair work of patching and removal of asphalt has created additional hazards as the patching lasted only about week before falling apart and has been done poorly enough to create an even greater uneven surface. Many motorists may be forced to slow to 10–60 km/h (5–35 mph) in many areas.

Use this road with caution! Not all troubled spots are identified and new hazards emerge regularly.
